NCSS Accreditation Portal
All Catholic entities are required to provide safe communities for children and adults at risk. To help Catholic entities meet their safeguarding responsibilities, ACSL has launched the NCSS Accreditation Portal.
The NCSS Accreditation Portal allows Catholic entities to complete a self-assessment against the NCSS, and to identify any gaps or areas for improvement.
Through the portal entities can:
- Respond to questions on the criteria and indicators of the NCSS relevant to the entity, rating their level of progress in meeting the requirements of the indicators.
- Upload evidence documents which support the self-assessment, allowing all safeguarding documentation to be easily accessible in one secure location.
- Access a range of automated reports including the Standards Action Plan, bringing together a list of areas for improvement in safeguarding practice.
- Compare progress in implementing the NCSS with an average of other similar entities.
- Submit the self-assessment to ACSL for validation, the first step in eligibility for accreditation against the NCSS by ACSL.
The portal also helps ACSL to detect emerging trends from self-assessment across a range of entity types. Analysing these trends will help us to provide more targeted support to Church to entities to build safeguarding capacity where it is needed most.
How do I register for the portal?
Access to the portal is free for subscribers to ACSL, which includes all Australian Catholic dioceses, religious institutes who are members of Catholic Religious Australia, and members of the Association of Ministerial Public Juridic Persons.
All Catholic entities eligible to use the portal will receive an invitation from ACSL to register. Contact us at email@example.com to find out more.
